New Balance began as an arch support company in the early 1900’s that specialized in basic orthopaedic devices. Inventor and founder, William Riley, created innovative products observing the perfect balance of a chicken's foot, which lead to the "New Balance" brand name. With the success of their arch supports the company expanded operations to include the design and manufacturing of footwear. Over 100 years later the brand continues to focus on developing well-made products that offer comfort and support, while spawning an archive of classic silhouettes and technology.
