One of our most anticipated FW12 womenswear arrivals debuts this week at Still Life For Her with Copenhagen-based womenswear brand Ganni hitting the racks at 550 Johnson Street. The focus with Ganni is to create sexy and playful clothes that are not too tricky or too fashion, just gorgeous. The kind of clothes that are created from allure, not passing trends. By pulling brand inspiration from silver screen icons ranging from Venessa Paradis to Audrey Hepburn, Jean Seberg to Kirsten Dunst, seasonal collections from Ganni offer a full range of styles to work with, allowing their faithfully devoted to dress in Ganni top to bottom without necessarily looking like they’re wearing only one label.
Ganni creative director Ditte Reffstrup defines the Ganni focus, “We like to think of Ganni as mixing the best of past icons but tweaking for the modern everyday girl of today. The key to the label’s look and allure is that we’re not targeting one particular girl. Just like we draw inspiration from very different girls and style icons, we create our collections for a very versatile demographic – girls riding their bike to work in Copenhagen, a bartender in Williamsburg, a mum picking up her kid from school, a Dalston journalist and so on and so on.”
Founded in 2000 the label’s aesthetic is ultimately based upon simple femininity. Moving confidently into the international market, Ganni is making waves throughout Europe and the UK with it’s debut at Still Life For Her this week marking one of only a handful of doors in Canada.
Available now at Still Life For Her, Ganni FW12 styles include beautiful leather accessories (pumps, boots & strapped shoes as well as the most gorgeous, super soft leather gloves), lace bodysuits, printed silk tanks and blouses, chunky knit dresses and sweaters and much more.
